Using my custom brushes I added textures to the clothes, painted makeup and added some more colors to achieve a translucent, porcelain-like look. Painting in Soft Light, Overlay and Color Dodge helped me here (Fig.08).

Fig. 08

I wanted the background to look like Arabic ornaments, which I find amazing. Additionally I wanted hidden messages here, so I started playing with the words prey and pray and then connected them together. The worlds are barely visible in the web of ornaments now (Fig.09).

Fig. 09

To finish up, I added some more final adjustments with Levels, Hue/Saturation and Color Balance adjustment layers (Fig.10).

And here's the final image (Fig.11).

Exploring the new, awesome tools in ZBrush 4 during the creation process was great fun for me. Many thanks to the 3DTotal team for giving me the opportunity to share this image with you. Thanks for reading!

seems to me u didn't have the gutts to admit what particular "culture" is mis-shown in Your work... the right hand is the clue...

Very nice work, however when you stated that you wanted to make it universal and not attached to any culture, I think it fails on a couple of points. 1. The text in the background is stylized in a way that at first glance it seems like its Arab writing. Upon further inspection the first assumption is eliminated. 2. The womans attire also has a lot of middle eastern influence and given the element above also seems to be geared again towards an arab or middle eastern culture. I think these elements could be revisited a little more to make them indeed more universal

Thanks for your comment. Yes, a pose is stiff, but it is for the reason, my goal was to refer to symbolic figures from Eastern Orthodox icons. As for the "chew thing" my intention was to capture the moment when she keeps a large bit of food inside her mouth but not chewing. It is a conversation. She is about to say something, she has to stop chewing for a while, a large bit of meat stretches her cheek. There is no muscles tension.

Solid process; however, the end result has a stiff pose, and the mouth does not appearing to chewing, it simply appears to be deformed.
