3dtotal takes a closer look at the nominees for this year's animago AWARDS, including the public-voted category for Best Still...

The nominees for this year's animago AWARDS have been released after an independent jury of experts gathered in Berlin earlier this month to make their decisions. The 5 best productions were selected in 10 categories from out of 1,014 submissions sent in by digital artists from 67 countries.

The winners will be announced at a gala award event on the evening of 16 October during the animago AWARD & CONFERENCE (Thursday 16 to Friday 17 October) at the Metropolis Halle at Filmpark Babelsberg.

The project manager of the awards, Jana Freund, noted that "We're once again thrilled to see the massive creativity and high level of technical expertise of the nominees this year. We're especially excited about the wide breadth of themes and the variety of countries from which we received submissions. We wish all nominees the best of luck!"

The animago awards have been going for 18 years now, from the launch by DIGITAL PRODUCTION magazine to the recent support by Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg, celebrating all things animated through visual effects, visualization, game design and interactive media.
