3dtotal: Tell us a little bit about yourself: Who are you, what do you do, and where are you located?
Shahrukh Shaikh: Hello, I am Shahrukh Shaikh from India. I started my journey of architecture illustration in 2013, and after learning 3ds Max I got my first job as a visualizer in an architecture firm. I am also an interior designer as I had a diploma in this field, and now I am working as a freelancer.

3dt: Tell us about your art: Your style, themes, genre, and some of the favorite projects you have worked on.
SS: Honestly, I don't have any particular style or theme but I try to make something different from previous projects, in order to learn something new in every attempt. One of my favorite projects is Black&Bricks. I had the hardest phase of my life and to divert my mind i started to work on this project, and it got me a lot of attention and gave me nice exposure.

3dt: Can you describe your typical workflow, and the software/hardware you normally use when creating your artwork?
SS: I used to work with the default render engine's sun and sky, but now I have made few changes in my workflow. I prefer to use HDRI to get real depth and natural light color variations, which I can't get with sun and sky. Basically I use 3ds Max and Corona Renderer as the render engine. Sometimes I also use Marvelous Designer for cloth simulation and ZBrush for sculpting, to add some extra detail in the work.

3dt: What inspires you? And how do you keep your portfolio up-to-date?
SS: What inspires me the most is nature and its serenity, it really turns on my visual capability and helps me to keep fresh. Sometimes, it is really hard to make time for a personal portfolio due to client projects, but it's really worth to do one every now and then, which helps keep me motivated. I always try to push my caliber to the limit, and I always come out from my comfort zone to accomplish my goal and it actually helps me to grow in different projects.

3dt: Who are your favorite artists, traditional or digital, and can you explain why?
SS: Since the early days I have followed Peter Guthrie and Bertrand Benoit. They are my biggest inspiration, and their observational level is beyond perfection. Also, I would love to mention Marek Denko as his work is artistic and eye catching.

SS: I am working on several projects which are confidential for now, but i will share them soon. I am also giving try to Unreal Engine and that will be shared soon too.
