Making Of 'Bath'

**WARNING! This Making Of Contains Nudity**

The original idea for this image came out of the references I'd collected. Whenever I start a new artwork, I do a lot of research and then I start the modeling (Fig.01).

With these references, I blocked the model with a simple base and I did some primary tests with the composition of the model (Fig.02).

As the idea matured, I really needed some specific references for the towel on the head and how its drapery would work. So I took some pictures of a relative of mine doing the exact pose with a towel (Fig.03).

I used the same real-life reference for the towel in the model's hand (Fig.04).

With these photos, I finalized the composition idea. I posed my general model so I could refine the anatomy and the towel's modeling (Fig.05).

After finishing the model's anatomy, I did the base of the towels, defining the main drapery and planning it so I could work in ZBrush more efficiently later on (Fig.06 - 07).

The planned base of the towel helped me a lot, because I could make some polygroups with it. The polygroups helped me a lot to work on some specific areas (Fig.08).

I did the fine details and texture of the towel in ZBrush (Fig.09).

One thing I took into careful consideration was the construction of the model's edgeloops. Although the intention was not for animation, I did it because it meant that the final piece would be cleaner and more finalized (Fig.13 - 14).

I did a simple test for the final image after I finished all the modeling (Fig.15).

For the final composition, I did some render passes, so I could work better in Photoshop (Fig.16).

Finally, I put it all together and made some adjustments in Photoshop to give me the final image (Fig.17 - 19).
