Ok, once the sketch was done, I moved on to the environment she was going to be placed in. At this stage I was using brushes I’d downloaded or made by myself. Tree and branch brushes were mainly used for this stage of the illustration. I drew some basic shadows to try and make the figure one with her environment (Fig.03).

I applied the same amount of detail to the background as I’d done to the figure. For the ground details I used rock and dry ground textures. The leaves were drawn with a custom brush I made just for this occasion (Fig.04-05).
