3D Total: Is there a common message in your artwork and if so, what would you say it is?
Robert Chang: I've always been attracted to emotional elements in creative works; I try to convey emotions and moods with my own. I think I haven't done enough of expressing that ideal--and I plan to do it more in the future.
An example of Rob's comic art and a lesson in clean linework.
3DT: Considering that you've worked in almost every artistic field, what ambitions do you have left to achieve?
RC: I haven't achieved jack sh$t IMO. None of my dreams have been realized yet. I mean, I've been doing all the things I'm passionate about, but I haven't reached any level of professional or personal ascension--creatively or in terms of recognition. My main goals in life are basically: Feature film directing--and be successful at it(at least in terms of critical acclaim--not necessarily financially), writing the great American novel, release a full length music album, and create/direct a TV series(one that doesn't get cancelled, or forced into prolonged seasons to milk the cash cow).
More of Rob's comic art, showing a good sense of pacing through imagery.
3DT: Finally what might the future hold for Robert Chang?
RC: Bigger and better things, hopefully. But more than anything, I just want to feel fulfilled and happy.
