So are you planning any more adventures for your budding journey man, and will it involve any more mystical fruit? Ila
- I am thinking about it. Now I am waiting for its first premiere at ‘Sprockets: Toronto’s Film Festival for Children’ that will be April 22 and also at Siggraph 2006 in August to get some feedback. It could be my personal trilogy and maybe there will be an episode before he begins his journey and one after this. Or maybe there will be no Moogoo chase at all and I start with a new story, and even with a new style. I am never satisfied enough with what I have got.
3DTotal - Do you have any plans for your Farm habitants series?
Ila - Not really, I made them for my entry of MachineFlesh contest of CGNetworks and I only put 3 of them there. Since my childhood I am highly inspired by French comic artists and British TV Stop-motion series in a same time and you could observe that here in this piece. I would like to start a new Farm Habitants Series with a new and improved style, more members and hopefully with a fresh planning!
3DTotal -So which French comic artist
influenced you? Ila - Uderzo (Italian origin), Franquin (Belgian), Herge (Belgian), Moebius (French), Morris (Belgian) and Batem (Belgian); so I think I should say ‘Belgian comic artists’ instead!

What sort of things do you do to relax? Ila - Playing online chess and some video games, drawing and sketching, watching DVD movies with my wife or playing with my son and his Lego™s!

That sounds cool, Lego is always a good way to relax. So what’s your favorite, sorry I mean your sons favorite piece of Lego?
Ila - Classic ones, mostly the Designer series is my (my son’s!) favorite. And also Bionicles™ are cool to play with.

So what do you see yourself doing in the future?
Ila - At the moment I am trying to strengthen my skills for Game development, especially on the real-time character animation. We are developing a Demo level for a game named ‘Quest of Persia’ at PuyaArts (www.puyaarts.com). I am strongly interested to enter into the world class Game industry along with making stylish and funny short animations.

Well its been a pleasure and thanks for taking the time out to talk with us. Do you have any helpful comments for our viewers out there about being a freelance artist? Ila
- Thank you too. The advice could be: ‘Sometimes you have to invite the client to your workplace, so if you are working at home it is better to have a small semi-office for that matter.’ And: ‘Be nice with your clients and make them satisfied. So you could be sure that some of them will come back with another contract and you will have enough jobs to do to pay the bills!
