'Project Overview'

'Making Of Ferarri Enzo'
by HamouchE Yassine

For the modelling of the engine, I gathered some pictures and studied them carefully. I then began designing it, starting with the big pieces and ending up with the smallest ones (Fig05 – 06), adding more detail, as you can see from the images (Fig07 – 08), always using the same method – big to small (Fig09 – 11).

Part Two: Rigging:

Writing the rigging part of this tutorial is a difficult task, especially because in this project I have written a number of scripts totalling to more than 1700 lines and 200 point helpers! So it is quiet impossible for me to write it all here. I have therefore made two “lessons”, in GIF and AVI format, to simplify the concepts that I have used.

Another important thing to mention here, simply because I have been asked this question a number of times: “Did you use a plug-in to show the speedometer in the viewport?” The answer is no, I didn't use any plug-in in the whole project. I drew the speedometer in Photoshop and then used Maxscript to display and move it in the viewport. (I can’t make a tutorial to explain this because it will take a long time) (Fig12).
