The image was rendered using Vray, and the setup is quite simple, after playing with Vray Sun I decided to use a Target Directional Light as the Sun because it was easier to get full control over the scene lighting. The car materials where heavily tuned after many render test to give the desired look.
The ground was not rendered as part of the scene, it was treated as a mate object and only visible for reflections. The background is a place called “ Uyuni Salt Desert” in Bolivia which is in my opinion an exotic place perfect for this scene. The same background image was converted to HDRI and adjusted in Photoshop for the reflections override.
