Well, for the card game, I’ve just sketched the shapes and painted the figures on another file. It was easier for me to create the right style like this and make this game more “realistic”. I didn’t detail the cards too much as they look more like quick’s than final images, because they‘ll be very small on the final composition. Once I’ve finished then, I imported them into the painting, I only had to add some shadows and moving effects, I also blurred some parts of the cards with the blur tool (never the filter, that’s bad ;) )
Step 10 - background / sky:
The sky is really important here, I wanted it to be colourful, but also credible. I’ve made the base with a basic round edge and the rest with several customed textured brushes. I’ve blurred some parts and added more details to others.
TIP: Try to keep in mind that a sky isn’t always blue and clouds are not always white, they are yellow, pink, grey, blue anything else, but not pure white :)
