Now, i'll work more on the face and the hands and try to bring her to life. I’ll also add more contrast to the body as i want to draw attention to her face and hands, so the legs will be more in the shadows than the rest of the body.
I've added more colours to the sky, some yellow and orange and a beautiful greenish turquoise, as I want the sky to be completely unreal so that’s why I choose these colours :) Onto the hand now, I've sketched the first shape of the fingers, keeping in mind that they don’t have to be long and thin as she’s not an adult, her fingers have to be more round with soft edges.
TIP: Flip your canvas horizontally, as this will give you a fresh look to your painting and help you to find out the little mistakes ;)
Step 4 - Detailing & Refining:
I’ll now begin to detail the face, adding more pink to her cheeks, and a little bit of contrast to the sides of her face and the neck with a dark green. The feet need to be worked on too, I choose a beautiful red for the toes as I want to give them a feeling of transparency, and using a red/orange is the best colour for this kind of effect (for the skin of course).
The doll has to look real, almost human and alive, I choose the eyes, and worked them till I have something quite realistic.
TIP: You don’t have to over-detail everything, just choose an area and work/detail into it as much/best as you can.
