3DTotal: Where do you foresee any shifts in the industry and software in the coming years?
Papa: Our industry thrives off of change and so we’re constantly evolving, shifting and learning the latest apps, workflows and techniques to be involved in what’s new. I see this theme of innovation and automatically think of convergence.

With this I mean that our industry is becoming extremely integrated and pipelines are really beginning to merge, which is leading us into an environment that is full of creativity as well as adaptability. Artists will continue to be presented with the tools they need to create absolutely anything imaginable as software leaders strive to unite advanced pieces of technology with user-friendly applications.

3DTotal: Are there any specific upcoming new applications or features you are looking forward to trying out?
Papa: I’m really looking forward to seeing what’s new with Cinema 4D and the upcoming Adobe Suite. These are superior applications that continue to provide our industry with extremely beneficial tools to creating the latest and greatest. And truthfully, I get excited on a weekly basis about new releases. There is just so much that continues to change and I’m always amazed at the innovation in our industry; it’s truly inspiring.

3DTotal: What new training titles do you have in the pipeline?
Papa: Of course, I can’t give away too many specifics, but I can tell you that we’re

coming out with some really great, interactive training over the next several months.

We will have release more than 160 new courses by the end of the year, including training for Maya, Max, Softimage, Houdini, ZBrush, modo, Fusion, Toxik and several others. We’re also digging a lot deeper into the pipeline by releasing titles for Backburner and Mocha.

Some other really exciting news is that we’re working on adding highly-requested Cinema 4D training to our library. We’re constantly working to provide our customers with the solutions they need. So, we’ll continue to work with major software developers to provide high-quality training no matter what application you prefer and no matter your skill level or what industry you are in. Providing an exceptional learning experience is our main priority.

3DTotal: Your training aside for a moment, what other words of wisdom do you have for ambitious students?
Papa: I think one of the most important things in life, as well as in our industry, is to keep learning. I’m not saying that just because I have a training company, but because I have a background in education including both a bachelors and masters degree. So I’m biased from the start about education and its role in our industry. The more you add to your education, the more you can accomplish and with that comes the opportunity to become not only a very successful artist but also a great person.

Learning something new every day or every week or even every year can have a tremendously positive impact on your life. With knowledge comes the ability to increase your paycheck, get the job you’ve always wanted, find the solution to your problems, and so much more. Education

really is an amazing tool that can lead those who use it to achieve more than they could ever image. I would also encourage artists in our industry to “never burn a bridge” because that one person you were mean to may end up being your future boss!

3DTotal: Well thanks for taking the time to talk with us Papa - we look forward to seeing your new platform and library evolve!
Papa: I first want to thank you for all that you do. It’s teams like 3DTotal that help our industry stay up-to-date and provide a great space for communication and innovation. I also want to thank you for taking the time to speak with me about Digital-Tutors. It’s been a great opportunity and I look forward to working with you in the future!
