3DTotal: Hello and thanks for talking to us.
George: Hi!

3DTotal: What has been your favourite project to date?
George: It is quite difficult for me to choose a specific one. I have always liked works which I have created for myself, which you can see on my website (http://supermars.ru/). At work I like working on features films, and also on some commercials. For example, we recently worked on the “Orbit” commercial, where I had to model and texture Godzilla, which was very interesting.

 
    3DTotal: What sort of challenges are involved with recreating such a recognisable character as Godzilla?
George: There were difficulties at all stages of the work, but with the texturing in particular, because the resolution of the frames was 2K.

3DTotal: Your latest Image, Cosmo, takes inspiration from the Star Wars films. Where else do you get your inspiration from?
George: I also get inspiration from the beauty of our life; music, art, literature, and so on.
3DTotal: Do you have a personal dream project that you would like to work on?
George: I like fantasy movies very much so, with various fantastic creatures. It would be wonderful to participate in such a project!

3DTotal: What does a regular day involve for you?
George: I'm currently in New Zealand working as a texture artist for Weta Digital. Previously though I work at Pixel Perfect Studio as a Digital Artist, where my tasks involve modelling, texturing, rendering and rotoscoping. Were I work on a film called “Wanted”, by Universal Pictures.
    
 
3DTotal: Can you tell us anything about the work that you are currently doing on Wanted?
George:There should be lots of dirty CG cars involved in a scene on a highway. I’m currently working with these cars; editing UV, texturing, and so on.

3DTotal: Do you have one piece of advice for any aspiring artists out there?
George:I’m not going to be original here, and I’m going to say what other people might if asked this same question. It is necessary to love your job and to work as much as possible to improve your own skills. Then you will be a success.
