I didn't discover CG until I was 25 when I started
a multimedia course at my local art college
and things just went from there, progressing
to a computer animation Masters Degree at Bournemouth
University here in the UK, then working at a
3D studio in London. All the time I was working
on 3DTotal as a hobby. In 2001 I took the leap
and started doing 3DTotal full time and it just
kept on growing! and still is!In
my spare time. . .I like to skate on my longboards,
bodyboard on the occasions we get away from
it all do the coast, power kite and explore
the globe for 3DTotal's untilmate location!
I
want to thank all the visitors for their support
and hope you all continue to enjoy the site
and our products, we have many new site features,
CD's, DVD's and books planned for the near future
:)

I started out as a painter using oil paint and pencils and after finishing a Fine Art degree ventured into the world of murals and paint finishing. After some time I eventually substituted my canvas for a monitor following an introduction to 3D graphics.I studied this for a short while which consequently led to a job in the games industry where I became one of the principal texture artists working on Republic atElixir Studios. After the game was released I became the main character artist on a new title but after a few near misses on my daily cycle commute along with imminent arrival of my son, I made the decision to leave the big city and move back to the shire ( Worcestershire that is ! ). It so happens that I now work with three people who all coincidentally studided at the same foundation college as me, but many years after I had moved to another part of England. I now have a journey of one mile to work as opposed to ten but that combined with sleep deprivation hasn't helped my helath and fitness much but my working day does give me more time with the family now. |

Well hello there, I was also with tom at college
studying graphics and multimedia and have been
a good friend to tom for many years. I have a huge interest in everything 3D
but still my heart is in 2D and always will be.

I have always had a love for art and spent a lot of my time growing up drawing comic book characters, mainly Judge Dredd and the X-Men. Now that I am older I still do a lot of artwork in my free time but recently my world has been turned upside down since I joined 3DTotal at the start of 2010. CG is just amazing! I can’t get enough of it! I have recently started using a tablet which has seemed a bit strange to me but I get inspiration everyday from looking at the amazing work that we have in our Magazines and Galleries!
I am kept busy arranging artists to fill both of our excellent magazines as well as keeping the gallery updating with new and high quality images. I have just started getting involved on a small scale with the new book, but I am really looking forward to getting stuck into some future projects. Working with so many talented people is great and all of the artists we use make life easier with their friendly and co-operative nature. My predecessor told me that I would love this job, now I know what she meant.

Well it’s been almost five months since I started working here at 3DTotal, so I thought it was high time I made my debut on the profile page!
I took a rather circular route into this artistic field – I actually come from a performing arts background, having studied Drama and Creative Writing for three years at a university down south. Coming back to the Midlands, I started looking for somewhere where I combine my love of writing with my obsession for all things computer-game related, and I ended up stumbling across a certain CG website. The rest, as they say, is history.
I’ve since discovered a flair for proof-reading and office sports, and my appreciation for beautiful art has definitely grown. I still don’t know what a displacement map is or what to do with a nurb, but maybe in another five months I’ll have the answer :)

I have always been involved with art one way or another as far as I remember, from painting to music and now to graphic design. Having a degree in English back in Iran, I worked as a translator and translated four books and many articles in art and music. However later, I ended up living in Malvern and doing my second degree in Art and Design at the University of Worcester, in the UK. Malvern, being an inspirational place, has inspired me to get into different aspects of art, such as printmaking, graphic and digital art. Now working at 3D Total, I find the whole thing fascinating ;

Hi I’m Matt, I’ve actually been working at 3dtotal since late 2005, back then I was studying at my local art college and got recommended to Tom and the guys by a college lecturer and well since then they’ve not been able to get rid of me!!! I have since been away to Cardiff to study for a degree in Graphic Communication (coming back to work at 3dtotal during the holidays). After completing my degree I returned to 3dtotal to work on a much more regular basis and am now without question the best office basketball player the 3dtotal team have. My main role is as a designer but I also like to help out in other areas of the company when required to do so. |

Sawasdee! (Hi!)
I am a Thai girl, and I joined 3DTotal in 2004 as sales and product support for 3DTotal, and as the content manager for 2DArtist and 3DCreative magazines. In October 2007 I followed my scientific dream by attending the Msc River Management programme at Birmingham University, UK, full-time.
I am a scientist who fell in love with art; 3DTotal offered me a great opportunity to work on their fast growing Threedy forums as forum moderator, which is what you’ll find me doing today! Being here is a great experience where “I am who I am.” I admit that I found it extremely challenging at first; English is not my first language, art is not my field, and England is my new country. All my hard work is now paying off and I am very proud of myself! If you have any questions/suggestions/spot any spam in the Threedy forums or anything (absolutely anything!), or perhaps you just want to say hello, please send me a message via the Threedy forums. I love being contacted, so drop me a line.:) You can find me here: http://forums.3dtotal.com (Threedy forums)
Everyone at the 3DTotal HQ is very supportive, focused and passionate about their jobs. We always do cool things together, like; playing table tennis and basketball where the loser has to make tea/coffee for everybody (yummm!)! I LOVE it here!
