3dtotal: Tell us a little bit about yourself: Who are you, what do you do, and where are you located?

Krit Suppaudom: Hi there… I am Krit Suppaudom. Most people know me as Maipai (it means bamboo).I have been working as a freelance graphic designer since 2010, working on print media and website design at my home in Nonthaburi, Thailand. However, I always spend time practicing my 3D art.

3dt: Tell us the story behind your recent gallery entry: What inspired you to create it?

KS: My 3D artwork gallery began to grow after being inspired by movies and videogames, and the 3D characters I saw on the internet. I saw the art of Dominic Qwek in particular, and my first thought was that's crazy. I said to myself; "This is inspiration."

3dt: What software did you use and do you have any tips for using this software, or any other software that you use to create your art in general?

KS: I use ZBrush for modeling, KeyShot for lighting/camera/matte-painting and some texturing, Photoshop for compositing and texturing. One of the most important steps in your workflow is to pay attention to the details and quality throughout all phases of the creation process.

3dt: Would you consider yourself to have a particular signature style, or techniques that you use often?

KS: I love a dark style. I think it makes my texture and matte-painting more attractive.

3dt: What software would you like to learn in the future to expand your portfolio and skillset, and why?

KS: Houdini FX: Every time I see a Hollywood movie, I am very excited by the ability of this program.

3dt: How do you keep your portfolio up-to-date? Any tips?

KS: I don't really have any tips. Really I'm just trying to keep practicing and improving my skills.

3dt: Who are your favorite artists, traditional or digital, and can you explain why?

KS: Some of my favorite artists: Dominic Qwek, Frank Tzeng, Caleb Nefzen, Paul Komoda and Simon Lee. Their art inspires me. All their work is so amazing.
