Last year was such an incredible year for talent, with our site breaking records and racking up the pageviews on your gallery images and all the great tutorials and making ofs our amazing artists created. We just had to take a moment to soak it all in, and in doing so, we have compiled what were the 10 most popular articles and presented them here for you now just in case you missed them first time round! And if they happen to inspire, well, that's the point!

Coming in at number 10

A site favorite still earning high pageviews since 2009, this making of Spanish Girl by David Munoz Velazquez displays his impressive Photoshop skills, detailing the techniques he used as well as showing various interpretations of the image that really show off his range.

Making the headlines at number 9

A 2012 making of entry by Ricardo Canton showcases his skills in the creation of his image, Cais das Artes (Quay of Arts). Richard is masterful when it comes to arch-viz, as this example shows. Step-by-step guides suggest this should be re-classified as a tutorial! Well the line is pretty thin sometimes.

Jose Alves da Silva showed us how to stylize and model toon humans in this impressive tutorial entry from January 2013. Learn how to model an impressive character in ZBrush, allowing the concept to adapt and evolve as you sculpt.

Nabil Chequieq takes us through the processes of lighting and rendering an interior scene with 3ds Max and mental ray in this 2012 tutorial, showing the steps used in the creation of his softly-lit scene.
