Hello there and welcome to my Making Of Sky Lounge. Like always I used 3ds Max 2012 and V-Ray 2.0 to create this image, along with some plugins like Floor Generator and Multiscatter.
First of all I started by setting up Max's internal unit system, changing it to meters and centimeters to have a correct scaling (Fig.01).
After that I set up the Gamma Correction to 2.2. This setting worked well for me, but there are several different settings that you'll see people recommend on the web, so stick with the one that works fine with you (Fig.02).
I started by using simple box modeling to create my lounge, inspired by some images from Ronen Bekermans' website: http://www.ronenbekerman.com/. I modeled the sky lounge from existing images and tried to get as close as I could to my references (Fig.03 – 04).
