Introduction

"My Pets" is a collection of pets that I have done over the past year. Some designs have been made for the toy company where I work and have come to be manufactured.

I thought it would be a good idea if they were all grouped together in one scene, despite having been designed for different projects.

Before beginning the design of a figure, I sometimes make some sketches (Fig.01). There are occasions where due to lack of time I cannot do sketches, but if time permits then I think sketches should be done.

Modeling

The modeling was simple due to the features of the design and everything was done with editable polys (Fig.02 & Fig.03). More important than the modeling itself was finding the correct size for each character, and checking that the proportions were correct.

Texturing

I used simple materials for all the characters in the scene. The material was a Falloff placed in the Diffuse Color tab (Fig.04).This material gives a soft and spongy effect and is very easy to do.

Lighting

The lighting of this scene was also very easily to do. There were two lights in the scene: a skylight (Fig.05) and an omni (Fig.06). The Skylight had no configuration, I just put it in and that was it. The omni had some important parameters: the multiplier had a value of 0.2 and I also selected the Area Shadow option.
