agreed on animation - expecially the facial. also thought the skin shaders were a bit on the "realtime" side. The story on the other hand looks like it could be an improvement on the last installment which basically amounted to nothing more than hour after hour of looking at pretty sunsets, shooting zebras, and occasionally getting into a gunfight for no reason other than the fact that you hadn't been past that roadblock in 15 minutes.
I dunno. I agree this one was a bit of a miss, but I certainly wouldn't write off Blur. I know these aren't incredibly recent, but I thought both the Fable III and Bioshock Infinite trailers had really excellent storytelling.
don't get me wrong, i didn't wanna say Blur is not awsome any more :) tbh i loved their Star Wars TOR trailers, and Fable 3 was awsome as well. but they have so many titles that somehow more ond more of their vids give me the feeling that i would expect more from these guys
i agree.. and that was in-game btw. as i see blur is capable of better quality, but nowdays blur trailers look like they are avarage trailers and lack of some fancy story or creativity. their videos are all great and look stunning but they have given down on quality regarding animation and story telling. must be the deadlines and many customers or i dunno, but recently that's my feeling about their products. every time i see a blur trailer i feel like it's good-good, but i don't have that feeling like when i see assasin's creed revelations or dead island trailer if you know what i mean..
I dunno. Not to mention everything they did for The Old Rep...
It looks great, but I have to agree the animation doesn't look on par with the CG. I liked the animation they had for the first trailer with "Voss" giving his explanation of insanity, can't beat that.
i agree.. and that was in-game btw. as i see blur is capable of better quality, but nowdays blur trailers look like they are avarage trailers and lack of some fancy story or creativity. their videos are all great and look stunning but they have given down on quality regarding animation and story telling. must be the deadlines and many customers or i dunno, but recently that's my feeling about their products. every time i see a blur trailer i feel like it's good-good, but i don't have that feeling like when i see assasin's creed revelations or dead island trailer if you know what i mean..

As to why CG? I think the question is "Why bother with the extreme amount of work to make it so photorealistic. Why not just live-action?"

awsome graphics, but the "story" is really dull imo so are most of the animations
Looking really good. Good camera work. But why CG? :)
Haha I have to admit there's an amusing bit of irony to a found footage type sequence created in full CG. : )

Awesome as always, with one exception. I think that Blur needs to seriously reevaluate their facial animation. They had this exact problem with their DC Online cinematics. They don't seem to push the expressions or the phonemes enough and, consequently, it comes out more stiff than necessary. Seriously, apart from that, there's little about this worth complaining about. It DOES look more appropriate situation for a live action flick instead of CG, but I'm not complaining since its done so well.

Why CG? I don't understand why you're asking that. Cause we're all CG enthusiasts, on a CG forum, and Blur Studio always do an awesome job at this stuff.
