Hi Mark, as a budding artist myself, I think you did a fantastic job. The shoulder buttons/piece is called an Epaulette and is an ornamental shoulder piece or decoration used as insignia of rank by armed forces and other organizations. Yes that is a corset, lol. Very well done drawing. I like steampunk and it can incorporate other fashions. Some are whimsical some are from the 1890's, but all things are brought together to make an alternate timeline or world. Look at League of Extraordinairy Gentelmen and Wild Wild West.
