3dt: Where did you find the inspiration for your latest gallery entry? What's the story behind its creation?

YLD: The inspiration for Summer is actually a Japanese actress named Yui Aragaki. She is my favorite Japanese actress; she is very cute. When I created the character named Summer, I didn't take the appearance of Yui Aragaki, but I wished I could give my character the same smile like her, a sunny girl for summer. This character was actually created for my Line stickers, like emoji, but only for Line user. So I created 40 different stickers (you can find them here) and I chose these 9 to make the image.

3dt: What software and plug-ins did you use to create this image? Did you face any difficulties, and how did you overcome them?

YLD: I used MODO, a little bit of Maya and Photoshop. There was nothing difficult or technical, my goal was to make 40 images not animation, so I just used very simple rig and blendshapes. I did a lot of work to make the shape looks nice. Maybe the most difficult thing was to decide which pose and expression I should use to present 40 different emotions; cute, fun and useful for chat. I took the time to research on the Internet, collect photos, watch drama and film, and trying poses in the mirror.

3dt: Do you normally use this software in your workflow? What other software and plug-ins do you favor?

YLD: Yes, almost all my work is made in MODO; it's very easy to use, I haven't tried other software yet.

3dt: What are your artistic ambitions?

YLD: Actually I don't know what my artistic ambitions are, I just want to create the images for fun; it's great if someone likes my works, and I'm happy and satisfied that I can live by my hobby.

Toto

3dt: What can we expect to see from you next?

YLD: I really want to make a fanart of Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn when I will have time, and I'm continuing working on the Line Stickers; there will be 2 new Taiwaneses girl and I'm planning to create a boy.
