This tiny speaker has a 360-degree room-filling sound and a water and stain resistant plasma coating so you can take it pretty much anywhere – although we're not having many outdoor pool parties at the moment. It connects via Bluetooth so you needn't worry about losing cables, and it boasts a 15-hour battery life.

7. Draw Lamp

We hate to say it, but lamps are inherently dull objects. The Draw Lamp aims to bring a touch of creativity to your office lighting, though, by combining a white ceramic shade with a dry-wipe marker so you can create your own quirky doodles around a 40-watt light bulb.

8. The Mu

While the standard three-pin British plug is a classic piece of practical design, it's not the most portable of items – and it's more painful than a Lego brick to accidentally stand on. The Mu folding plug collapses to a more svelte and portable size, and it includes a USB port so you can charge your smartphone.

9. Sphero 2.0

A must-have for Christmas, this remote-control ball connects to your smartphone and lets you drive it around your home, garden or desert. It also lights up with millions of colours and it's resistant to water, dirt and shocks. With its two-metre-per-second speed it's sure to confuse elderly relatives and cats, too.

10. Olympus Stylus 1

The distinction between DSLRs and compact cameras is becoming increasingly blurred, as is evident in Olympus' Stylus 1 camera. It looks like a classic DSLR, but it doesn't feature interchangeable lenses, which is good if the thought of buying expensive add-ons sends shivers down your spine. It's said to perform much like a DSLR, though, with infinitesimally adjustable settings so you can create the perfect shot.

That Draw Lamp wouold make a great business gifts, you could give them to employees and clients with your logo drawn on and then let them rub it off and get creative!

I would personally love the Sphero 2.0 to annoy my friends and family with, that's such a great gizmo.
