With under 2 weeks left till our Kickstarter project is funded, we take a look at what the project has to offer, hear from Loïc himself in a hilarious video, and enjoy some of his art!

Loïc e338 Zimmermann is a multi-talented French visual artist living and working in Los Angeles on superhero films such as Thor: The Dark World and Iron Man 3. We first stumbled across his work when his Tattoo Project hit the scenes in 2007. At which time, he was propelled from crafting characters for Heavy Rain at Quantic Dream in France, to working on Hollywood blockbusters in Los Angeles.

"I noticed Loïc's work several years ago - in particular his piece entitled 'The Assassin'. I hadn't seen digital artwork executed with such a dynamic approach, using 3D and 2D applications to bring the piece to a finish," says Andrew Baker, Digital Sculptor/Designer at Weta Workshop. "It's a philosophy I started applying to my own work not getting tied down to either or to create an evocative piece."

The Assassin captured Andrew Baker's imagination and inspired his use of 2D and 3D software to create hybrid concepts

To celebrate the life and work of Loïc e338 Zimmermann, 3dtotal is embarking on an exciting Kickstarter project to collect his epic portfolio into a beautiful book. It will be lovingly packed with insightful articles on his creation processes spanning concept art, 3D, digital sculpting, photography, mixed media and more, featuring over 100 images crafted by the talented hands and mind of Loïc e338 Zimmermann. Andrew Baker is one of the backers of the Kickstarter project and adds: "I'm extremely excited to see a book filled with his work across multiple disciplines and can't wait to flip through my copy!"

e338: The Art of Loic Zimmermann will be a 152-page book, packaged in a beautiful slipcase
