Very cool! Absolutely love the style.
The "thing on the upper part" is optical equipment - video camera, infra red camera etc. Some helicopters have them mounted above the rotor blades and that allows them to hover low above the ground, take cover behind a tree line, and "peek" over the top of the tree line, without exposing themselves.
