Haha, I figured exactly that. It sucks when you find yourself in that place of having to go a different than you want just to avoid having comparisons drawn to something else. Regardless, the piece still came out nice, and he's got loads of character.

Thanks guys!Warlock279> Yes, I have to admit that you are right regarding the snout :) When I have been asked to write this tutorial the first thing I thought was: "How the hell am I going to make him distinctively different from the Kung Fu Panda?". It is inevitable to compare them, especially when Kung Fu Panda 2 is being promoted now! So I have tried to follow the route of sharper angles which lead to a brown bear head :P LOL

Really well done, and load of character in him. I do have to admit tho, I don't think the face looks very panda-like, and looking at the sculpt alone, I'd have guessed it was a brown bear. Pandas have that very short snout and rounded face, the nose you gave him feels a little too long, and some of the features too sharp for a panda.With regards to the fur, that turned out great, lots of subtlety in there with the color variations.
