Thanks a lot everyone :)Zenman> Decimation is great, however, you still have to deal with big polycounts, so it might not be suitable for other needs. But I am glad you have another tool in your belt now :D

I would say that when the objective is to create a fast concept, the decimation process makes it real fast, because there is no fine tuning of the displacement. Some softwares even take longer using a displacement map than the actual high res model. However, for a production environment, when you need to output the characters to an animation pipeline then you have to go by the retopology route, displacement/normal maps, etc.Thanks,Z.

Thank you, guys! The white floor was a requisite of the tutorial. This will be part of a series of cartoon animals and all the tutorials (developed by different artists) will have neutral backgrounds as the focus is the character. :)The " displacement" is is fact the high res model :) I have decimated and exported the Zbrush model to 3DSMax. But I had to add a bit of a bump map to make the micro detail more clear.

I quite like this piece , maybe the white floor could be something a bit more different.By the way your displacement came out great, or was it a combination with a normal and bump also? I found you have to adjust the Disp values manualy most of the time to get the right results.

Hi guys,Thank you so much for the critiques, they were very well accepted :)So, I have updated the image, the air bubbles are flowing at the top and I have added a bit of liquid escaping at his lip.Best,Z.

Aww this is really cute, except of course for the fact he's an alcoholic armadillo. As cute as one of those could be :p Amazing

Looks way cool, doesn't look like he is drinking any of it though ;). You could perhaps add some dripping and fix the bubbles a bit to make that pop a bit more...

This is an amazing piece of artwork as usual :)The ONLY crit I have is that the bubbles in the bottle is kind of following the local axis of the bottle instead of floating up, they should be pressed up against the glass.I am looking forward to the tutorial man, very good work :)
