Notes:
I spent on this one quite a long time. Not that it was too complicated but there were periods of time when I really couldn’t touch it for a several weeks. Some guys thought that I was dead not posting any new works. So here I’m once again. It’s about being far away from family, friends from everything you love and care about. Just an anonymous cold waiting areas of airport gates with strangers all around set to dime mood of cold weather and soft fogy sunset make your unwanted company. I know these days airports are quite modern and fancy… but it’s even more unpersonalised with all those duty free shops and fake Irish pubs and pizza restaurants with fake smile or without it. So take a minute and enjoy it.

Technically it was made in 3dsmax 2009, Rendered in Vray sp1.8a. Excluding the sky it is all completely 3d. Color correction and postproduction playing in fusion and photoshop. Rendered on i7 975 with 12Gb of RAM at 5000×2570px resolution and it took aprox. 15 hours to render at final quality. Dedicated to my beautiful family which I hope will never be far away from me.

first of all my english is to bad, but i wanted to post a message anyway, because i want to tell you that your work is brillant. there are too many renders, good renders in this page, but to me, a good render or an image its realy good when it can transmit any emotion. i dont,t care if it is a excelente render, it realy is, what matters to me is that, the image telling something. Congratulations, i think that you are an artist, beacuse your image makes feel something more than a simple comment in my mind, that image made me feel what to wanted to transmit and only the artist can do that

Very evocative, I love it. Great work as always.

Re the clock does not matter, I would say it the reflection of the ceiling.
Hi, Awesome work. But The clock is copied with Photoshop into the rendered Picture ? Because I see the ceiling through it. If you looking throug the 8th window you see landing gear from the plane ? Why? they shouldn't be there.. With those some errors/fakes ;) 4/5*
Hmm those things are a bit odd, true. I must say though that this image regardless of that is truly amazing! The feeling is there, and purely technical aspects look great in my meaning. You have really nailed this one...Very dirty and grim airport btw ;).

put simply.............incredbile!Work to be proud of for sure, would love a tutorial or making of there's some very very impressive details and effects going on in this scene. I think the man appearing stiff/cold is exactly the right stance and mood and even though he's indoors he'd still be cold, an airport lounge like this is vast and would take alot to heat and I could easily believe that the man is still cold even though he's inside. Technically this is excellent, visually it's superb and elegant and exactly how artwork should be, it get's you thinking aswell as enjoying the piece.5 star work without a doubt, well done.Kind RegardsCG.

Hi Marek,

I am a big fan! This picture is just perfect. You put so much effort into detail. Which airport in CR did you use as reference? Ruzyne? :-) Keep up the good work.

Even before I read your description I got this special feeling that you get when youre far away from home on a cloudy day. To be honest, I dont really like the look of the waiting area, but it fits very well to the overall scene. 5/5 *I really hate to sound like a fanboy, but I would even give 6/5*, if it would be possible

Unbelievably beautiful! The floor is amazing :-)I admire your work, Marek, it's just astonishing what you can do. When Ive learnt you worked on some of my most favorite animations by Blur Studios and that you're from Slovakia (I am from Czech Republic) my admiration even grew up. I can only hope one day I'll be able to create such wonderful things you do... Thank you for the inspiration.

Now THAT'S a gallery-worthy piece! The only thing that catches my eye is that the guy looks to be a little stiff...like he's cold, or something. On an artistic note: "Everything beautiful is far away." Are you talking about the scenery, or the woman across the room?
