I did this project together with my friend Ove Simonsen, who modelled the apartment and most of the props in Autocad.
He has always had a thing with New York apartments, with their blend of old and new and when he watched the movie "Autumn in New York" he was immediately fascinated by the main characters apartment and started modeling it in Autocad.
When he was done I took over and finished the scene in 3dsmax. The scene was rendered with Vray and Post work was done in Photoshop.

Your guys' work is truly stunning. The material creation is very believable (nice variation in the glossiness and bump to breakup continuity). I'm curious what the RAW render looks like; basically, how much work was put into post-production...p.s. I would love to see more work from you guys. very inspiring...

Thanks guys. We are very happy you like the pictures.

Ben C, You are right. They were slow to render. :) We rendered the pictures in different resolutions. The main pictures at 5000 px in width took about 24 hours on a I7-3770 with 16gb ram. The smaller pictures (3500 px in width) rendered in about 12 hours.

Last render looks very photo-realistic. Oh, and all the ones above too. :)
