Thanks Tycane3D,I know what you're saying, I mapped a ramp to a sphere to get that highlight in the reflections. I'm pretty much done with this project for now. I may put it in an environment if i take it any further. Thanks or the suggestions tho!

Looks loverly!If i may make a suggestion, the lightbox on the side, maybe make it a gradient also, that fades out towards bottom or top (whichever u like best), so as to not have this big invasive white line on the side, there is very little color variation in that reflection and it kinda detracts from the rest I feel,And maybe have some nice reflection working on the top part of the car cause light wise there is not much happening there.She softbox reflections look great tho

[B]Sathe:[/B] Thanks, man.[B]raptoreagle:[/B] I used Maya's image based lighting with a ramp texture to give an ambient light to the scene and make the sharp highlight on the car paint. I've attached an image of the ramp. The only thing to note here is that the white's value has to be above 1 in order to emit light.I had two area lights lighting the car. The key was slightly yellow and the fill was light blue. I've attached images to show their settings and position in the scene.This an easy setup to use but with your Murcielago's flat angular surfaces it you might find it doesn't work as well. Play around with the ramp, place the hard edge at different heights to change the position of the highlights on your car.Hope this helps.[m]

No, the tread is right. Most of these old race cars had that amount of tread. They usually used Good Year Eagle tires.

Hmm for me the wheels look too tall and too thin. Makes the car look like a tractor.Everything else is on point!

Okay so I've made some minor tweaks here and there. Drew up the right font for the numbers on the decals and tweaked the shader. Made textures for the side walls. Put a texture and bump on the radiator and removed the mesh (it wasn't adding to it and was barely visible) A few more things done to the interior that you can't see here. In the comp I added reflection, slight back light/glow and graded the image.I think I'm just about done with this one for now unless you guys see something I don't?

Finished modeling. Some texturing still to done on the interior (dials, carpets etc.) Will tweak the shaders once i have a back plate image to comp on. I'm hoping to get to a racetrack this weekend and get some nice shots.

Thanks lebaje, I'll post a bigger render as soon as I'm done with all the modeling. The part of the window you are talking about is actually a second sort of scoop window (I've attached an image of it) but I think it needs to be clearer in the render.These shaders still need a lot of work!

Well it's been a while since i touched this project. Damn real work, getting in the way. Anyway, still trying to get the modeling out of the way. The list is short tho:Windscreen wipers, Door inserts, Interior carpets, Harness.Here's a little test render for the mean time. Some of the shaders still need work, particularly the rims.

Thanks parlee! If i can get anywhere near your level of accuracy I'll be happy. There are also quite a few different kit types for this car so a lot of the reference images don't quite match up :wall:

Looks great so far. Exceptionally smooth modelling, and the details are integrated nicely.Good luck getting the interior portions to fit perfectly. I had a similar problem with the ranchero, got the body finished and everything looked fine, but the interior didn't fit at all. Took a bit of creativity to get everything to look right. Nothing beats standing beside the car with a tape measure and a camera. (Easier said than done with this pretty.)

I've had some time lately to work on this car again so here's a small update. The interior shell is wrong. I still am looking for references for how it all fits together, specifically the wheel wells and where the door meets the body. Anyway, once that's done I can move on to the carpets and door insides and other interior bits. So hopefully more to follow.

Cool, thanks guys.The materials and lighting are by no means final. Just a quick test really. I'm struggling with Maya's MIA architectural shaders. I used the chrome preset and tweaked the rubber preset but the centre part of the rim is a funny looking metal. From the reference mage it looks like a rough anodised aluminium. I guess I should just get all the modelling out of the way first!:haha:

I would more on your materials.The chrome needs work (might be the lighting) and the wheel center material needs tweaking.
