Digital Painting - Abominable Snowman: Alletun |
| Tom-3DT: Very solid creature design, and a great consistent style, well done. |
Rich-3DT: Some economical brushwork and nice texture give this image a painterly quality. His blend of faun legs give him a "Narniaesque" feeling but the face is certainly abominable !
| Chrip-3DT: I really love this character. I like how you've made the yeti quite civilized by incorporating a cane/staff and him adopting a pose reminiscent of a victorian gentlemen. Though keeping him quite rugged by having scars running down the face Perfect. |
ClassicGamer-3DT: Incredibly beautiful brush strokes on this snowman, I really like the totally different approach to the subject matter with this one too, this snowman almost looks from an age old fable, a real proper mythical story character, this style wouldn't look out of place in an ancient illustrated book in the world of Harry Potter or something. Gorgeous detailing and a joy to see.

Low Poly (Game Art) - Snow Creature: Martin_x |
ClassicGamer-3DT: Superb modelling/sculpting for this guy! Great original look to him with excellent features, I really like the broken chains and the belt, the sculpted hands and feet are incrredibly good especially the long fingernails and the worn out and nasty toenails, the muscles and the veins looks both brilliant and realistic and the texture work is fantastic with a beautiful lighting setup for the final render, really great job!
Simon-3DT: I like the model and design and think that the oversized arms and short legs give it a human/ape twist that makes it interesting.
Matte Painting - Polar Colony: rofiqualfata |
BiG ToE-3DT: Liking the future Japan-esque temple covered in snow. There is almost a cartoony feel coming from this one, which I like.
ClassicGamer-3DT: Very different take on the subject matter and such a unique look mixing it with the oriental archictecture, having this modern twist on it really looks great in my opinion, great compositing and integration.
Simon-3DT: I have given this one third because I like the fact that you haven't just made the colony look mega modern and futuristic but also balanced out older buildings with a future twist. well done.
Speed Modeling - Solar Ice Drilling Machine: radulan |
ClassicGamer-3DT: Again some wonderful detailed modelling going on here, very nice and clean mesh creation, a very imaginative style to the driller and very good attention to each part modelled.
Sculpting Challenge - Abominable Snowman: frostsnake |
BiG ToE-3DT: Went with this one because he went in a different direction with the theme. Not only did he think outside the box, but his sculpting showed great attention to detail, which is difficult when dealing with ficticous creatures.
Freespace-3DT: This is a unique twist on the theme. If the abominable snowman really looks like that, I'm not venturing into snow ever again.
ClassicGamer-3DT: A very interesting take on the subject matter, totally twisting and turning our perceptions of the abominable snowman on it's head! By creating an alien bug hybrid this not only makes me fear the legend more but also adds such a new level of interest to the idea of this being. The sculpting is precise and beautifully done.
Simon-3DT: This is a bit different to the others, it has a district 9 kind of feel to it but I could definitely imagine it living in a cold environment. nice one!
