Tom-3DT: That's a fearsome snowmonster! I like the way you have captured a single moment in a great david and goliath sytle battle, leaving the viewer in suspense. Great sense of scale too.

Chrip-3DT: Perfect sense of scale, you really get a sense of the one-sided battle thats about to take place. The use of bright colours on the central figure really draws you eye into the piece making her/him stand out againt the dark blues, greys of the yeti.

ClassicGamer-3DT: Incredible attention to detail and physically scary too, wonderful use of compostion, light and colour, great tones used too a real joy to view.

Simon-3DT: Theres nothing better than a good scary Yetti! I think your image has great depth and sense of movement! Excellent!

Tom-3DT: Well done on that head design! It really stands out, but I really like the overall all model too, first place for me.

Rich-3DT: I like the unusual design and surreal like head but the texturing also works really well.

Chrip-3DT: What a brute. really nice model and texturing work going on, really like the hippo / weird creature head.

ClassicGamer-3DT: Now this is one big guy! Such a unique look to this one that astounds me the more I look at it, the hippo mouthed hybrid is incredible and the sculpting of this guy is wonderful, the texturing is excellent, the colouring and the pose looks really menacing and threatening, he really looks brilliant.

Simon-3DT: I can't think of where you got the inspiration for a hippo with a serpents head in it's mouth, but what I do know is that I like it! really great model and it looks really different but cool in that environment. great!

Judges Comments:

Tom-3DT: Consistent with colours, tones and textures which is key to a good matte painting, interesting structures too.

Rich-3DT: Some good atmospheric perspective and an interesting concept. I think the scale is a little off in places but the composition draws the eye into the scene.

Chrip-3DT: Overall the best matte painting in this challenge, though i do think in some place the scale is off, but generally really nice.

BiG ToE-3DT: Picture trully fits the theme. Feels like the ice was not only there first, but is coming back to take what belongs to it. Great textures and lighting helps pull everything together.

ClassicGamer-3DT: This looks kind of epic because it on such a larger scale than the others, the landscape looks really good as does the dam and the housed ice/water section. Love the underwater/underice lighting and the futuristic elements work very well.

Simon-3DT: I like the fact that you have created the colony over a large area, so that it it spreads as far as the eye can see. I also like the subtle blue lighting coming from the buildings as this fits in really nicely with the overall feel to the image.

Judges Comments:

Tom-3DT: Fantastic modelling but not quite my first choice as I think the 'solar' element in your design is quite weak, otherwise top notch.

Rich-3DT: Nice neat model with some good detail and well conceived.

Chrip-3DT: Nice model and the amount of detail is great.

BiG ToE-3DT: Just awsome. Great use of copied objects, great idea, model is clean. Great job

ClassicGamer-3DT: A tradional look and style of machinery with that little bit extra added for the climate and job it needs to do. Love the modelling on this one especially the tracks, the meshs built is beautifully clean with all quad modelling and an excellent amount and indeed attention to detailing. Work to be proud of for sure.

Simon-3DT: I think it is the most practical and realistic of all the entries, I also like the over all quality of the model and think that the final image is shown from a really interesting angle.

Tom-3DT: Love the pose, Im surpised how much effect a pose can have, so well done with this, everything else is great too, stylised fur, hands etc all very good.

Rich-3DT: Good concept with a charismatic head design and some nice stylisation in the large hands. Fur is also well modelled alongside the lumbering pose which is full of character.

Chrip-3DT: Strong concept and overal model is top notch, not a realistic take on the abominable snowman but it's a fictional beast so i think its perfect.

BiG ToE-3DT: Great model. Great technique for sculpting the hair/fur. Looks as if each strain of hair was sculpted. Doing the full body was a nice touch as well. Also digging the pose.

Freespace-3DT: This furry thing is adorable and cute, but that smile could hide a brutal personality. Well done!

ClassicGamer-3DT: Proportioned beautifully, looks like he could go either way by being a complete ravaging animal or a gentle giant, again the brush strokes for the hair in this sculpt is outstanding.

Simon-3DT: I really like your style and the quality of your model! It have everything you would expect a Yeti to have but in a unique style that you have pulled of really well!
