Digital Painting - Tomb Raider: vnmribaya |
| Tom-3DT: I really like the colour palette and the classic tale of the knight taking the treasure, it's a shame the idea of the demons holding him back isn't as clear in the final piece as in the wips, the weighting isn't quite right and they are a bit too wispy, a great attempt though and makes my top 3. |
| Chrip-3DT: Perfect image and is such a clever take on the 'Tomb Raider' theme. The use of chiaroscuro within the image reminds me of works by Rembrandt and kind of fits the subject matter perfectly. |
ClassicGamer-3DT: This is just a staggeringly impressive digital painting. I firmly believe it has an old masters look to it, the intense shadowing works a treat with the otherworldly spirt which is guarding the treasure. The detailing work on the armour is outstanding, beautiful use of light and tone, great pose and a great story is being told in this picture, excellent work.
Simon-3DT: This is easily the most interesting take on the theme of a Tomb raider that has been executed to a really high standard. The choice of color palet really gives it an old classical feel. Excellent!
Rich-3DT: Great image with an intersting take on the subject with a colour palette and lighting reminiscent of the Dutch masters.

3DTotal - t-shirt* |
| Tom-3DT: A great model, very well textured and posed too, gets my first place, my only crit is if a saw him without the title I wouldn't say he is a 'treasure hunter', I think your concept was better with the pick axe too. |
ClassicGamer-3DT: Again another entry here with outstanding sculpting, love the texturework here especially the leather jacket, great pose saying he's ready to take on the world. Lowpoly turned out great too.
Simon-3DT: This is easily the most up to date, contempory take on the theme, I could really imagine this character being used in a game. The modeling and texturing job is really good! Nice one!
Rich-3DT: An econmoical and tidy mesh with a clean looking texture makes this my winner. Has some of the qualities of a Final Fantasy character with both a retro and modern style.
Matte Painting - Lost Jungle: BBB |
| Tom-3DT: Now that's a matte painting, consistency across all elements is always the key and you really nailed it with the colour palette and lighting, the main tree and entrance is just awesome. |
Chrip-3DT: Wonderful image, all the elements work perfectly with each other. The use of light and the depth in the images is perfect. The steps leading to the doorway in the tree adds intrigue. Spot on.
ClassicGamer-3DT: A wonderful warm feel to this piece, a fantastic sense of scale with the huge and old tree situated on the edge of this rock face overlooking a huge expanse of land, love the flock of birds flying and the almost glittery sparkle of the water down below. Amazing composition with excellent detailing.
Simon-3DT: Hands down the best. I love the slightly overcast look that makes the jungle seem darker and creepy. Everything is put together perfectly and everywher you look there is a new detail that grabs your attention.
Rich-3DT: Good compostion and lighting with yet again an attention to subtle details.
Suirebit-3DT: Overall a good image with a very nice mood. The only thing that bothers me is the vegetation/forest under the big tree - it contains too many different species and scales so it just doesn't 'flow', making it seem like a patch work.
Speed Modeling - Forgotten Retreat: adamos |
| Tom-3DT: Perfect for a speed model, efficient use of your time and polys producing something very pleasing to look at without going overboard on anyone area. |
| Chrip-3DT: Great modellling but the idea lacks originality. The texturing seems good but the model doesn't gel with the backdrop image enough, making it stick out like a sore thumb. |
ClassicGamer-3DT: Now this is what you call a tree house! the way the trunk twists on this entry is so cool, with the additional props such as the boxes, pulley's and cage it gives the viewer an insight into possible traps set by the now long gone inhabitants. The modelling is clean and concise with some really fantastic detailing.
Simon-3DT: I really like the design of this, it is quite a lot like the tree hideouts that you see in nature programs on tv. I am not sure if it is a forgotten hideout but it does seem like a practical one that has been modelled really well.
Rich-3DT: Fulfills the brief perfectly and contains an interesting array of objects that make one wonder about its function and inhabitant.
BiG ToE-3DT: overall the best. Simple yet effective modeling, detail added where needed. Clean mesh work. Doesn't seem to be any wasted edges. Well thoght out.
Sculpting Challenge - Female Amazon Warrior: sagiarts |
| Tom-3DT: Really beautiful work, I would say more classical than Amazonian but the details and pose are fantastic. |
Chrip-3DT: Great sculpting, and by far the best pose in this competition. Only draw back is those boobs look too firm (not a bad thing) for someone supposedly living in the Amazon.
ClassicGamer-3DT: Firstly wow what a pose! So much action in that pose, it's obvious with this sculpt she is a beauty not to be messed with, great detailing work especially on the cloth, hair and weaponry. Just an amazing sculpt.
Simon-3DT: really nice sculpting, and excellent dynamic pose! this catergory came up with a lot of similar designs but this was top of the pile for me because of the quality of the model and the fact that you have put her in a great action pose. Excellent job.
Rich-3DT: Overall a well proportioned and modelled character whose posture suggests a warrior. The breasts look a little Hollywood but a thoughtful and dynamic design.
BiG ToE-3DT: the final sculpt and pose fit the theme of this challenge to a tee. The sculpture really showcases a strong warrior type. Muscles help push the fact that this lady is a fighter, yet she still has a touch a female going on. Not too manly.
Freespace-3DT: Everything from the anatomy, to the accessories, to the dynamic pose show the polish and care that have gone into this sculpt. It all looks like a slow-motion shot of an amazon in mid-battle, just as she's about to deliver a kill. The hair is beautiful.
