Following in the success of our first two books in the 'Digital Art Masters' series, we would like to announce the 'Call for Entries' for the third book in the series
'Digital Art Masters: Volume 3'.
'Volume 1 & 2' of 3DTotal's book series, featured some of the best 3d & 2d artwork from such artists as Marek Denco, James Busby , Natascha Roeoesli, Philip Straub, Rob Chang, Jonny Duddle, Benita Winckler, Ryan Lim and Fred Bastide. The one thing that set the 'Digital Art Masters' series apart from other gallery/catalogue books was the fact that we wanted to show the readers how the images were created, so each artist wrote a breakdown overview to accompany their piece in the book.
'Digital Art Masters: Volume 3' will again be showcasing some of the finest 2d and 3d images from talented artists across the globe. Initial submissions need to be of your final image only to enable entrance into the selection process. Chosen artists then need to supply an additional text overview with 'making of' and 'work in progress' images. See samples at bottom of page to give you a good idea of
what is required.

She will also be writing back to you acknowledging receipt and giving any further instructions. Sending multiple entries per person is welcomed. For the first stage we only need a screen resolution (72 dpi) size of your image (around 800 pixels or so) but remember your final inclusion has to be print resolution (typically around the 3000 pixel size at 300dpi is best) smaller images did make it into the last book but didn’t get a full page.

Important Information:
1. The image should be an original concept and you should be the copyright holder of any images that you submit for the Digital Art Masters: Vol. 3 book.
Important Note 1: Fan Art is tricky for us as we need to get permissions from the original authors for the use of your imagery, and so we need to avoid such artwork where possible. Even though you may have created the artwork from scratch, if the concept is based on another artwork then you will need permissions from the author of said artwork. If you have written permissions from the original author of a Fan Art piece that you’d like to submit for the book, please send your written permissions over [scanned] when you submit your work, otherwise it may not be considered as fulfilling all the requirements.
Important Note 2: If you are submitting work that you have created for a company, rather than a personal image, it is more than likely that the company is going to hold the copyrights of the image. You will therefore need to contact the company and get permissions for the use of the image in the Digital Art Masters: Vol. 3 book project before you submit your image for this book project. We will require confirmation that you have such permissions before you can be included in the final selection of artists.
2. It is a necessary requirement that the image you submit is fit for full-colour print. If chosen for inclusion in the book project, the ideal size of your final image should be – as a guide – 3000 pixels wide at 300dpi. When submitting your image in the initial stage, please submit a JPEG version, but please also make a note of the final image size in your email so we can be sure it will be of the required print quality.
3. If you are submitting an image for the book project, you should be able to commit to creating a 'Making Of' the submitted image by 20th February 2008 [provisional date]. The Digital Art Masters book is a collection of high quality artworks with each image having been broken down into the stages of production by the artist, who also talks the reader through their thought processes and decisions along the way. It should be both technical, where necessary, and inspiring.
