The Hands - neccessary as they are

For a Fighter Hands are really very neccessary as you can imagine. How would he pick up and wield his sword, if he had no hands?

When modelling hands you have to be very careful - if they are not made correctly they won't look right and they won't not work right in the animation!
The hands consist of a whole number of joints and all of them will be animated.

In order to model functional hands, take a look at those attachted to your arms and then follow the tutorial...

The hand started with a cylinder, that I started cutting using the peaks and valleys system. then I extruded the thumb and added cross sections where necessary.

When the first finger was done, I grabbed all the faces, and cloned to element, so that I could reuse it as the middle finger. Then I cloned to element again, but this time I flipped it for the 3rd finger.

On the foot, I started with a cylinder for the main section, and a geosphere for the heel. I deleted most of the faces in the sphere, and merged most of the verts. Extruded the toe, modelled the rest of the toes. After I combined it with the body, there was more tweaking to be done.

So much about hands and feet. Let's have a look at the
completed guy before we head of to texture him!
