Project Overviews Tutorials
This is the newest section of 3DTotal's tutorial area, these tutorials are not designed to be step by step guides and are often not software specific but instead provide an insight into how great cg is created, how projects are tackled and give away a few tips from the pros. . all in all very worth while! Happy browsing!
Are you interested in turning one of your recent projects into a tutorial for this section. It must match the quality of the work below but we make it worth your while ;) write into Lynette Clee - Content Manager

- "Hungarian House" by Karin Eszterhás
I created this model of a Hungarian house in 3DStudio Max 5 and rendered with VRay. To use the 3DTotal Textures as fully as possible, and get the aged look so typical for many houses in the small towns of
Hungary.....

- "Making of: La hacienda" by Daniel Schmid leal
Walking arround I stepped in to a Guillermo Fernandez de Castro's Lithography, and a thought came to my mind: "that can be a nice render" and that's the inspiration for this tutorial. . .

In this short tutorial I will try to explain the techniques I've used in my last picture, named Bounded by Destiny. I must say that the picture is still work in progress, but I'll post the final version on my site and 3DTotal site . You will probably ask yourself why this name. . .

"To dirt or not to dirt" by oxhido
During the development of the scene and this tutorial, a terrorism activity happened in Madrid, the city where I was born and where I still live. More than two hundred people died, and more than one thousand people have been wounded. Please permit me now remember all of them. I wish art save us all someday. . .

- "Making of Wolverine" by Rishikesh Nandlaskar
I will not go in detail explanation, assuming that my friend (reader) has some basic knowledge of box modeling and texturing (including unwrapping) in any 3dsoftware. . .

- "A little bit of Bricolage" by Miguel Madaíl de Freitas
Ok, I'm going to describe a little about the modelling of this scene. Before I begin, let me say that I applied displacement maps to almost every object in this scene, appearing that actual modelling is more complicated.
It isn't! I'm a big fan of the phrase "It doesn't have to be right, it just have to look right!". . .

- "Texturing Tips" by Julien Noel
This tutorial is aimed to 3dsmax users but can be achieved with any 3D package. First I will show some
details of the modeling and after I will explain my texturing process. . .

- "Making of the Hagia Sophia" by Juan J. Gonzales Diaz
The idea to make this work come from an old drawing of Hagia Sophia published in a book. I want to make a image ussing imagination, far from my normal technical work, so i dont use any other photographic or techincal references. All modelling, layout and render has been made ussing Lightwave 7.5 without any speciall plugin. . .
- "Making of the Post-apocalyptic Hunter" by Dennis Hoppe
When I was asked to write this making-of, I didn´t really know what to write about to be honest.I always
think that my modeling-technique is so obvious that there´s not much to say about it! But the day "the hunter"
got published in the 3DTotal-Gallery, I received 52 (!) eMails from users who had questions about the modeling, the materials, the rigging etc. . .

- "Making of the Worm" by Raymond O'Doul
This scene was created using Cinema 4D and was done as follows. Please note that the models shown are not the models in the final render. I didn't know I would be making a tutorial for this when creating it . . .

- "Crustation" by Ben Chung
This is an overview of the steps taken in making this scene, or any scene using Lightwave 3D 7.5, Photoshop,
and 3D Total's Texture CD's. I won't go into too much detail in any particular part, well maybe uv mapping
because I couldn't find too many tutorials for that in lightwave :) . . .
