Project Overviews Tutorials
This is the newest section of 3DTotal's tutorial area, these tutorials are not designed to be step by step guides and are often not software specific but instead provide an insight into how great cg is created, how projects are tackled and give away a few tips from the pros. . all in all very worth while! - "Fruits season in Arabia" by Khald Al-Muharraqi
In order for me to show how 3D-totals textures are impressively well done, I thought of proving that in developing a scene that has very little polygons and very simple to develop even for the beginners, The other thing was not to use to many images...

- "Making of: The gates of Hell" by Mario Russo
The Gates of Hell was created for the 38th 3Dluvr contest entitled "the gates", which got 3rd place. I was wondering how many people in the contest would make the gates of hell and how would be the most obvious representation. I remembered Rodin´s the gates of hell. . .

- "Kogaion Bot" by Teo Popa
First of all I made a sketch with the general volumes of the project. It is not a work of art or a very detailed drawing as you see due to the fact that I did not want to restrict the model from the start. . .

- "The Hanger" by Miguel Fonseca
This was the Image that I made for the 3DTotal CD v7. The CD's are full of textures which can be used in a great variety of images and models, robots, spaceships, whatever. My Intention in the beggining was to create the ship only but then I started to model the environment and the results were as follows, the hangar. . .

- "Texturing with 3D Total's Texture CD series" by Karin Eszterhás

- "Window to the Courtyard " by Martin Ernst
I'd like demonstrate to you the potential use of the 3D Total Textures. To accomplish this I created two versions of the particular scene - one "clean", utilizing only some of the original textures to be found on the CD's; one "dirty", complementing the flawless textures by adding grime and graffiti. For this I used Cinema 4D and Photoshop. . .

- "There's always a bigger rat" by Dough
A picture of a hotel-corridor was something I wanted to do for quite some time. Characters should be in that scene too, but I had no Idea what kind of characters, or even what they were supposed to do in this scene.
As I was sure about the appearance of the corridor I started modeling - so the character-problem had a little
more time. . .

- "Tram" by Ferenc J. Haraszti
First, I'd like to say a huge thank you to 3DTotal.com's staff for giving me the opportunity to test their latest texture maps. All I can say is they are most awesome! All this was made in 3ds max 5.1 and rendered with VRay. . .

This scene was entirely textured with Total Textures V5 'dirt & graffiti' and v6 'clean textures' from 3D Total. The 'Return of the Princess' was made in 3Ds max 5.1. This is the first time I have textured a scene twice, one with clean textures and second applying some dirt maps. . .

- "The Passage" by Adam Guzowski
I am going to write about some texturing tips I use when working under my short film "The Passage" In this title-image I used only one texture, put on simple plane object. No lights, no highly detailed objects, only one good texture. "The Passage" is a computer animated short film showing simple life story of a small robot-ball...

- "Texturing with 3D Total's Texture CD's" by Balazs Kiss
The basic idea of this image was to try out the possibilities of the 3D Total texture series. Therefore this project started mainly as a texturing exercise, but later it become more or less a Lighting-Rendering study with PRMan. I have used Maya for modeling-lighting......

We have all seen the spectacular images that the Hubble Space Telescope and other such observatories have revealed to the world. Their haunting splendor inspires and compels us as artists. The question is, how can we capture the elusive essence space in our own representations of the heavens?
